History: The Center for Sustainable living is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that was formed by Bloomington residents in 1992.

Mission: To make available information, services, projects and networking opportunities for those interested in exploring ecologically sustainable ways of thinking, living and interacting in our community.

Results: Projects include a community bicycle project, lecture series, a natural building group, gardening and composting education. Provided a well-attended Simply Living Fair for the last seven years. Instituted the Bioneers Satellite Conference at Indiana University.

Join the Center for Sustainable Living for the 2010 Simply Living Fair and Midwest Permaculture Convergence September 23-26! This four-day celebration of simple and sustainble living includes speakers, workshops, children’s activities, hands-on demonstrations, tours, and green vendor booths! Interested in being a vendor? Booths start at $40 for for-profits, $30 for non-profits. Curious about solar power? Sign up for our Sunday Green Building tour featuring three buildings with different types of solar power (solar water, solar furnace, and solar electricity). Keynote lectures on Thursday and Saturday are FREE and day passes for Saturday workshops from 9:00 to 5:00 are only $12 when purchased in advance, $15 at the gate (children are free).
